Waxing Explained: Brazilian (V and P - Manzilian), Bikini Full and Bikini Line

We are offering a wide range of skin waxing at our salon in Chicago, Barrington including Brazilian (V and P – Manzilian), Bikini Full and Bikini Line. The terms might be confusing, therefore please allow me to explain what are the differences and what to expect with each of these types of waxing:

Brazilian (V or P)

For guests with vagina (V), penis (P), non-binary, or in transition. All hair is removed, including front, back, sides, and everything in-between. Includes the bikini line, a butt strip between the cheeks, and hair off the front – we’ll leave as much or as little as you want.

Bikini Full

For guests with vagina, penis, non-binary, or in transition. Includes the bikini line and hair off the front. This service is for those who are looking for something between a Bikini and Brazilian.

Bikini Line

Bikini Line is a cleanup outside the lines of the bathing suit or underwear line. Includes four finger-widths off the front starting at the natural bikini line, and two finger-widths starting from the top.

Butt Full

For guests with a vagina or penis. Includes the glutes and a butt strip between the cheeks.

Butt Strip

For guests with a vagina or penis. Includes a strip between the cheeks.

What are the Benefits?

1. The skin will appear healthier and will look better. Apart from the fact that we remove the hair, waxing the skin means a good exfoliation. This means that the layer of dead skin cells is being removed allowing your skin to recover and look healthier.
2. There is no irritation like when epilation or hair removal creams are used. Waxing rarely causes any issues, as it is a neutral product and used warm and melted. We use high quality waxes which stick to the hair and not the skin which improves your experience dramatically
3. Results last longer – the hair is removed with the entire root and therefore it will take longer for it to grow back. This means that waxing results last for a prolonged period of time. Also, when your hair does eventually grow back – it will grow much thinner and softer and therefore less visible.

Are your services both for men and women?

Yes, we offer Brazilian and Bikini Waxing to anyone. If you are looking for a male waxing salon, you have definitely come to the right place!

How to prepare for a Brazilian or Bikini wax?

There are a few things that can help with having a great experience:

• Please avoid shaving in between your waxing as we will need your hair to be 3-5mm long at least, otherwise the wax might not be able to adhere strong enough to remove it.
• Showering and ensuring you are exfoliated will give you the best results. Please arrive clean on the day of your appointment. If you are a woman and menstruating, please ensure you wear a tampon.
• Clothing that is comfortable and loose-fitting is best. This will allow your skin to breathe and will avoid irritating the skin

Can I have my waxing done if I have sunburns?

If your skin appears irritated on burnt, we will not be able to offer you your appointment. You are more than welcome to reschedule to another date when your skin has healed

Can I have a Hollywood or Bikini Wax if I’m on medications or pregnant?

We will not be able to offer you your appointment if you are on medications that change the texture of your skin or makes it very dry such as Accutane for acne or severe irritation.
If you are pregnant –  there shouldn’t be a problem from our side to wax you.

Can I have a wax if I have tattoos or piercings?

Waxing does not cause any damage to your tattoo and if anything – it can actually make it look better since it exfoliates the skin in the process.
With regards to piercings – we have to concerns, you can keep them on.

After your waxing

The aftercare for a Brazilian or Bikini wax includes exfoliation 2-3 times a week and applying a soothing cream. If this is your first Brazilian Bikini wax, the majority of the hair will be removed. However, hairs grow at different rates, any hairs that start appearing early after a wax will be removed in your next session. Eventually, if you wax regularly, you will notice that all hairs are in the same cycle of growth and the results will last for longer.
